Have you heard of or tried pão de queijo (cheese bread)? This is one of many traditional snacks in Brazil and is made of cassava flour and cheese. Typically, you’d have it with a cup of coffee for breakfast or as an afternoon bite, together with family or friends (I miss that so much!). I have been advocating for its pronunciation in Portuguese, i.e., avoiding translating it to other languages, in order to keep its origin values. Well, think about it: do you translate croissant? Or pizza? Sushi? Next time we meet in person, remind me to bring some pão de queijo for you!
