Innovative Work at Creavis
As Evonik's strategic innovation unit, Creavis offers those with scientific expertise and business-oriented thinking a wide array of career opportunities.
What does Creavis do? Simply put, Creavis looks for interesting technologies and business options beyond the existing portfolio. Most of the projects that find a home there are intermediate- and long-term innovation projects by Evonik.
While this special connection between R&D and industry takes extensive knowledge, no less important is a flexible, inquisitive personality with a passion for networking.
Creavis carefully fosters an inspiring corporate culture in which achievement, openness, and trust take center stage. Employee development is a central element of this culture: Creavis spends approximately three to five years nurturing its employees and strengthening their competencies. “In our School of Innovation, Creavis employees attend an eight-week boot camp, where we teach them the basics of such disciplines as project and patent management,” says Carmen Rösch, HR Business Partner. "Experienced employees pass along their knowledge as part of our Train-the-Trainer concept." Thus equipped, new employees have access opened to a more demanding assignment later on in the operative units of the Evonik Group.
At Creavis, the focus is on transformative innovations—that is, completely new types of products and technologies that allow Creavis to help implement the growth and sustainability strategy of the Group. Seven fields of innovation form the framework for the current projects: Food Solutions, Care, Direct Manufacturing, Membranes, Feed Ingredients, Sustainable Energy Solutions, and Tissue Engineering. These areas of innovation are closely oriented to Evonik's innovation growth fields. Projects are developed to market maturity and then transferred to a business line.
