Meet the team
Can you tell us briefly what your responsibilities are?
I work for the Logistic Service team group. My role as an internal supply chain consultant is to analyze, identify areas of improvement and implement action plans in the supply chain area for the different product lines located in the North America region. Our team works intensively in many topics related to supply chain strategy, customer and product segmentation, network design and others.
What do you like most about what you do?
I like the exposure to all the different businesses, you get to know and understand better the segments and many different products.
What do you find most challenging about your job?
In my current function as a Supply Chain Consultant, I am constantly in contact with many functions of several Business Lines in North America. In my opinion, this experience can be challenge because you need to prove constantly that you have a very quick learning curve for new topics, which is very important when working in different projects simultaneously.
Why should someone come to Evonik to do your kind of job?
Evonik offers you many opportunities, such as regional and international mobility. In my case, I am originally from Brazil and after been selected in a trainee program they offered me an international development carrier. The opportunity can enlarge your capabilities of adaptation and change as well as a continuous learning both professional and personal.

Can you tell us something about the team you work in?
My team is very multi-cultural. You can find four nationalities with different backgrounds working together to achieve the same goals.
Can you think of a special occasion on which the team or the team spirit made a difference?
Team spirit is very important in all projects that I do. My work highly depend on the collaboration of the different functions [e.g.: Marketing and Sales, Planning, Production and etc.]. Therefore, it is necessary the knowledge of everyone in its own field to achieve the milestones we promised to deliver together.
So team spirit is very important to you?
Yes, without team spirit you can not go forward, we need each other to get the job done and improve the company further.
Is there a certain type of candidate who does well at Evonik?
There is a lot of room for different kind of personalities at Evonik, but I think a positive attitude towards building a team and creating a good working environment is important for everyone.
What advice would you give to someone thinking of joining?
Be open-minded and celebrate diversity, because you are going to work with different cultures. At least from my point of view, Evonik offers more diversity and mobility than other companies I know.
