It has now been more than a month since I started my internship at Evonik in Employer Branding. In addition to my wonderful colleagues, I have already been able to work on many exciting projects. I am particularly fascinated by accompanying or supporting people stories. The conversations as well as the contact with people from different fields are not only very interesting, but also very different due to the diversity of the people. Especially the cultural and personal background literally make each people story unique. Through the experiences and different perspectives of these people, I have the privilege of gathering valuable insights and advice for my own professional career. Evonik’s Employer Branding team is excited to announce that once again in the North American region the money typically budgeted for career fair giveaways will be donated to university food pantries. The tradition started last year when university career fairs first became virtual due to COVID-19. At the same time, the pandemic heighted food insecurity on college campuses. As an organization, we hope that these donations are an example of how we are leading beyond chemistry and are able to impact the lives of students in a way that we never have before. I recently came across the perfect example of how Evonik leads beyond chemistry every day! The Mobile Site built and replaced more than 70 bird boxes on their property. The project comes as an effort for Evonik to have a positive impact on the environment and natural wildlife in Mobile. To keep the project socially distant due to Covid-19, the maintenance department created kits for employees to take home and assemble the birdhouses with their families. What are you #proud of at work? I am very proud working in a diverse team, colleagues staying authentic while respecting each other, with houndreds of years experience in #highperformamcepolymer and serving #automotive industry, with newcomer on board challengig the establishment and bringing new spirit into all of us and help into #digitalization especially in todays times very important since corona pandemic does not allow frequent personal meetings, which we were used to. We found new ways of moving forward and working in and as one team. We made a lot of happen and we also secured the knowledge transition to serve our partners at its best with our polymer system solutions. The picture shared has been drawn by Jennifer Haßelberg for our colleague Klaus, having celebrated his 40th years company anniversary few weeks ago and soon finishing his professional career. Employer Branding is making another charitable donation in place of giving away items to students at career fairs. $4,000 is being donated to Engineers Without Borders USA on behalf of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) virtual career fairs that took place mid-November.
