Evonik Again a Top Employer in China

For the 17th time, Evonik was awarded the Top Employer in China, ranking 12th among 151 certified companies.

The certification was awarded by the Top Employer Institute, after an evaluation through 20 topics under 6 areas. Evonik has showcased outstanding performance in the areas of career development, digitalization of human resources, employee welfare, diversity, through the implementation of various human resource management practices.

David Cheng, vice president of Human Resources Asia Pacific North, commented that Evonik is committed to empowering its employees. “Our efforts were reflected in the survey results, where we scored above the benchmark in all 20 topics. In future, we will continue to improve the employee experiences and continuously creating sustainable value,” added David.

The human resource management processes at Evonik were improved through digital technology, covering the entire employee life cycle from recruitment to retirement. Besides, Evonik has established a comprehensive learning and career training system to support the professional and personal development of its employees at different levels. For example, in 2023, 66 employees in China participated in the programs such as Evonik explore and achieved development.

Evonik values diversity, fairness, and inclusiveness and has clear management policies and measures for gender diversity and the development of women's leadership. As of the end of 2023, the proportion of female managers in China exceeded 43%, and the proportion of women engaged in laboratory/R&D technical work exceeded 50%.
