People Insights: Ahmad & his team
Ahmad works as Business Development Manager in the capital of Saudi Arabia in Riyadh. He and his team were part of the #BetterWithYou Campaign in January. Let’s see how a positive focus can make a big difference, and how camping in the desert can be a great inspiration to keep the Work-Life-Balance.
When you work with your team, what brings a smile to your face?
A sense of humor and positive thinking make us smile! We can easily see how passionate our colleagues are with what they are doing in sales, business development, accounting & customer service. Understanding that our products make the life of others better gives us a feeling of happiness. No matter how much load of work you have as a small team, once you love what you are doing, you will do it with a smile.
What's the first thing you do when you get to the office?
We are a small group, so we start with a quick chat with the team, asking them about last night and recent updates. Review the latest development on the Intranet since it is the first page to pop-out on your face and afterwards we continue our daily business of checking emails and visiting customers.
What is your life motto?
Talent is something you either have or not, but hard working is your choice. Everyday we live is a blessing from God and a learning opportunity. The more we learn new things and improve ourselves, the more capable we are to make the planet a better place for the future generations.
Which Evonik site did you always want to visit?
Creavis, Evonik’s strategic innovation unit, is always a dream for me to visit, seeing the latest technologies we are working on, especially in regards to 3D printing was always interesting topic to me. I follow the updates regularly on the Intranet, but having the chance to see them on reality will be something different.
What do you like to do in your free time?
Camping in desert under the sky in a spring night is a wonderful experience. Saudi might be one of the best places to live this experience. I also like reading books, listening to talk shows and chilling with family and friends.
