Virtual Femtec Welcome Event
Consistent with the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on February 11, 2021, the virtual Welcome Event for the Femtec scholarship holders took place yesterday.
The digital live event was opened by Thomas Schiener, Head of Talent Management who emphasized Evonik’s decision to support women in science. “Diversity is firmly anchored in Evonik’s corporate culture. In order to shape the future of tomorrow sustainably and responsibly, we need the right people on board – qualified, diverse, motivated, because People make the difference.” After his welcome speech , presentations on innovative Evonik projects and a virtual networking session were held. Patrik Stenner, process engineer at Evonik and winner of the Responsible Care Competition of the Association of Chemical Industries e.V. Hessen, Germany, presented, for example, his winning project "Limnoplast" to the participants. Corporate Entrepeneur Dr. Sarah Hintermayer had the opportunity to give an insight into what it is like to work on an own idea within a company. Femtec-Alumna Dr. Angela Heykamp, now Director Strategy Performance Intermediates at Evonik, was also able to share her own experiences, while also sharing valuable advice and tips with the participants.
With the Femtec partnership, Evonik promotes the early exchange with young professionals and the talents of tomorrow, fills talent pipelines and supports young women interested in STEM related jobs in their development. We look forward to a strong cooperation and regular exchange with the talented scholarship holders.
