Ju, the Innovation & Growth Manager for Catalysts

As a chemical engineer in China, Ju applies her expertise for Catalysts and strives towards sustainable innovation and circular economy.

Holding a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, I began my first career in academia as a Research Associate at Imperial College London.

My career journey with Evonik started in 2017 when I joined the former Corporate Innovation department. Half of my role was as a Technology Scout responsible for the China region, working closely with a global team to support various company-wide projects. The other half of my role focused on building local innovation networks, both inside and outside the company.

My role evolved in 2020 when I became the Innovation Development Asia Manager within the Corporate RD&I function, spending the next three years proactively identifying emerging technologies and strategic opportunities to drive innovation in Asia. During this time, I developed a deep passion for sustainability and explored opportunities from multiple perspectives in fields relating to circular economy, hydrogen economy, bioeconomy and so on.

In 2022, I participated in the Talent Program Evonik Rising Explorers and by 2024, I transitioned to the Business Line Catalysts, taking on the role of Innovation & Growth Manager, dedicated to shaping and driving sustainable innovation initiatives that can strengthen our catalyst business in Asia. I love staying on top of technology and market trends and finding ways to turn new ideas into commercially viable solutions.
