Lourdes, Customer Service and Import Coordinator at Evonik reports in her story about one of the biggest challenges in her career, what makes Evonik a valuable employer for you, and what advice she would give to a new colleague.
What are your main tasks as a customer service & imports coordinator at Evonik?
I’m in charge of importing materials from Germany, China, and the United States to sell them to our clients in Mexico.
Can you share an experience where you were challenged in your career at Evonik?
I had an opportunity to manage 3 of the main business lines at the same time: Colorants, Crosslinkers, and Personal Care. That means I had to learn a lot about our products and business. I also took on a backup role in Sales, and these opportunities enriched my professional experience. I totally understand that customer satisfaction is the most important thing for Evonik worldwide.
What is the most valuable thing you have obtained from working at Evonik?
Confidence and recognition, both from my clients and my boss. This made me feel like an important pillar within the business line, and feeling this way in your work is always valuable.
What 3 words would you use to describe working life at Evonik?
Motivated to be the best in the world, giving added value, meeting our personal goals and the company’s.
What makes you proud of Evonik?
I’m proud that Evonik is an innovative company, a world leader in specialty chemicals, and a company that’s concerned about the environment and the integrity of all of its employees.
What would you like to say to a new Evonik colleague?
I would like to say that Evonik is a company that gives you the opportunity to grow and learn. In this company you can achieve your personal and professional dreams, but to do that you must be a perseverant, responsible person, and you will see how the company will always give you the best possible support in all aspects of your life.
