Transforming the Digital Landscape: Muriel and Christine
Muriel and Christine are key players in advancing digital transformation. They discuss their motivations and the impact of their work. Can you guess their professions?

Hello Muriel and Christine, let’s take the readers on a quick job-guessing session!
What fascinates you about your job?
Muriel: I'm fascinated by the variety of tasks and the opportunity to develop processes and contribute to digital transformation. The personal development opportunities are also a great incentive.
Christine: I particularly appreciate the collaborative work within the team, implementing new processes, and learning from colleagues across different departments. The sense of unity and interdisciplinary work is also very motivating.
What skills are essential for your job?
Muriel: Patience and a passion for innovation are key. Additionally, creativity, openness, and communication skills are important.
Christine: Being open to new things is crucial. You should also be a team player with skills in concept and strategy development to advance processes. Communication and interdisciplinary collaboration are also a must have.
What is the added value of your work?
Christine: Through the eBIM process, we support digital transformation at Evonik. We enhance quality and transparency by utilizing and visualizing data for complex buildings and chemical plants.
Muriel:Our contribution lies in structuring and visualizing data around the planning and construction process, making project execution more efficient and transparent.
How do you assemble the final product?
Muriel: We assemble our final product from many small puzzle pieces into a "neural network." Each project is unique, and so is our process: individually. We work with the project team to assemble the components, creating a "tailored suit"—a project setup that supports the project without overwhelming it.
Christine:Through continuous feedback from the projects, we consistently improve our final product.
Revealed: You are BIM-Managers! What exactly is eBIM and what do you do?
Muriel: eBIM stands for the Evonik-customized Building Information Modeling. It's a method of digitization where 3D models are enriched with important information to LOIN models (LOIN = Level of Information Need), which are intended to form the basis for the entire planning and construction process as well as operations. There are various use cases for which the models can be enriched and utilized in cost estimation, schedule creation and visualization, tendering and determination of sustainability metrics.
Christine: We develop and implement the building blocks and use cases suitable for Evonik. Our scope of work extends both nationally and internationally. As BIM-Managers in the engineering construction department, we advocate for a digitized and transparent project execution. We are the bridge that fosters communication and support to achieve success together!
