Where is Evonik located in India?

Evonik  has been active in India since the last four decades via the erstwhile companies. We run a state-of-the-art research center based at Thane, occupying an area of approx. 12,000 square feet for R&D and applications support for the range of Evonik products. Furthermore there are two production facilities in Gujarat and Dombivli.

What are the key business areas of Evonik in India?

The key business areas for Evonik India include specialty chemicals for health care, animal nutrition, automotive, paints and coatings, construction, personal and home care solutions and oil additives. Evonik India’s operations span across India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.

Evonik’s experience in pharmaceutical excipients manufacturing stretches back to 50 years and, therefore, business with the end users in the Indian pharmaceutical industry is a strategic core for Evonik

Evonik in India also offers a broad range of bio-degradable polymers for medical devices, pharma excipients for controlled release drug formulations and  active ingredients for nutraceutical applications. 

We are also the global market leader in both fumed and precipitated silica and one of the production sites is based in Gujarat, India. Our production site based at Dombivli, Maharashtra is well equipped for production of oils and fats catalysts, activated metal catalysts and precious metal catalysts which supplement the Evonik catalysts portfolio. 

To advance its target of localization, Evonik in India is also engaged in getting some of the product’s toll manufactured mainly to support the local Indian customers. Cooperation with reputed distribution partners also helps us in catering to the entire spectrum of customers.

We deploy interns in various projects and make use of their skills to develop and implement new topics. Based on the work of the company, we especially look for chemistry, engineering, and economics students.

We are present in three locations: Thane (research hub), Dombivli (catalyst production site) and Gujarat (silica production site)
