Evonik has been active in Malaysia for many years before we opened our first office in 1995. With our office in Selangor, we have established an environment that catalyzes a creative, business-driving culture.

Serving as a strategic base with close links to our local markets and customers, our office in Malaysia provides sales, marketing, and business services within the country. To cater to the increasing business activities, the office was expanded and relocated to the business district of Bandar Sunway in Selangor in 2015.

In addition, the new office also housed the shared services center for the entire Asia Pacific and European region. Providing IT, procurement, and financial services such as accounts payables, accounts receivables, general ledger, fixed assets accounting, and cost accounting to all internal Evonik departments. 

Located on parts of the Malay Peninsula and the island of Borneo in South Asia, Malaysia is also known for its beaches, rainforests, and mix of cultural influences from residents with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and European backgrounds. The capital, Kuala Lumpur, is located in the state of Selangor and is home to colonial buildings, busy shopping districts, and skyscrapers such as the iconic 451-meter Petronas Twin Towers. 

Interview with Nur Atiqah Alias from Malaysia

Question 1: Why did you decide to join Evonik?

Atiqah answers: The brand Evonik itself is known as one of the biggest chemical specialty companies and the best company to work with in Malaysia. This basically already make me feel excited to join the organization. However, the main reason is I feel that my skills are particularly well suited to the position offered in the procurement, and I also see the future to growth more in my career.  

Question 2: What does #HumanChemistry mean to you?

Atiqah answers: Human chemistry for me is where it connecting people inside and outside of Evonik. It is where others can learn about Evonik directly from the employee itself. So to put it short, the employee could give their honest point of view of how their life at Evonik is.

Question 3: What is your favorite part about your work?

Atiqah answers: The team. I have a wonderful team that supports each other & they just make me feel like a big family working in one place.

Evonik Malaysia is hiring people with very diverse skills and backgrounds, such as sales, administration, engineering, chemistry, IT, and project management with a strong focus on IT, procurement, and accounting.

It is always a good idea to speak the local language of the country you plan to live and work in, and Malay is the official language in Malaysia. However, speaking Malay is not always required at Evonik since English is the main business communication language in all our locations.
